A few words about the fashion designer

Après avoir été diplômée de la prestigieuse Central Saint Martin’s College of Art & Design avec une spécialisation en méthodes de coupes innovantes, la créatrice d’origine athénienne a travaillé avec de grands noms de la mode comme Clements Ribeiro ou encore Preen avant de lancer sa propre marque.

After graduating  from the prestigious Central Saint  Martin’s College of Art & Design with a post graduate degree in innovative pattern cutting, Athens-born Romina Karamanea worked with leading designers such as Clements Ribeiro or Preen before launching her own brand.

Structure and texture are central in Romina ‘s work and she is known for her innovative cutting techniques, inspired by her love of architecture and human anatomy. The garments gives the impression of a striking modernity thanks to the mix between the nude palette used and the versatility offered by the zip.

Structure et texture sont les maîtres mots du travail de Romina. Elle est egalement connue pour ses  techniques de coupe innovantes qui lui sont inspirées par son goût pour l’architecture et l’anatomie humaine. Les vêtements sont d’une modernité frappante par la confrontation entre la palette de couleurs nude utilisée et la modularité qui caractérise le zip.

« Préparer le défilé et avoir la chance de se produire lors de la programmation On/off de Londres a été très excitant et enthousiasmant. Lorsque je créé, je n’ai pas d’idoles ou de modèles en tête, je préfère habiller des individus et marquer leur différence. Cette collection s’est inspirée du mouvement Bauhaus et se compose donc de couleurs primaires, je m’intéresse aussi aux différents types de corps et j’essaye d’en tirer le meilleur dans mes créations. »

« To prepare the catwalk fashion show and  to have the opportunity to show my work during the London On/off was really exciting. When I am designing , I don’t have any idols or standards in my head, I prefer to dress individuals and to emphasize their differences.  This particular collection was inspired by the Bauhaus movement and displays primary colors, I am particularly interessed in different body types and try to bring the best of them.«
